 Configuring a Resource Lock

Step 1 : Go to the Azure Portal and search for Storage Account.


Step 2 : Click on Create and add details to create a storage account.
















Step 3 : Click on Go to Resource.


Step 4 : On the overview page check the details.


Step 5 : From the sidebar, select locks under the Settings Section.


Step 6 : Click on Add button.


Step 7 : Add details and click OK.



Step 8 : Now, from the sidebar, go to the Containers section under the Data Storage section. And try to add a container.

It will show an error because we have applied read only lock on our storage account.





Step 9 : Now, again go to the locks section and edit the previously created lock from a read-only lock to a delete lock. And try again to add a container. Now it will successfully add a container without showing any errors.









Step 10 : Now again go to the overview page and try to delete the storage account by clicking on the delete button.
It will show an error because we have applied a delete lock on our storage account.




Step 11 : Now, go to the Lock section again and delete the previously edited lock. And again, try to delete the storage account from the overview page. Now it will successfully delete your storage account without showing any errors.
